3 Types of Vehicle Wraps

Vehicle wraps are becoming an increasingly popular way to brand a business or show off some personal style. When it is time to decide what the wrap will look like one of the most important items to consider is the type of wrap you want for your vehicle. Let’s break down the different types of wraps to discover what option works for your desired outcome, budget, and timeframe.

FULL WRAP

Just as the name implies, a full wrap covers the entire vehicle in vinyl. Typically, to achieve the seamless look, lights, handles and occasionally doors need to be taken apart during the process. With a full wrap, you have the option to do a single color change - changing the color of the vehicle or have a specific design and branding for a business printed on the vinyl to be installed. You can see examples of this here. A full wrap is a great choice for businesses looking to make a statement with their vehicle branding.

PARTIAL WRAP

As you might have guessed a partial wrap is a less expensive option than the full wrap and partially covers the vehicle in vinyl. Again, this type of wrap can be a color change or a business branding change. For this type of install, it is important to have an expert design and install the wrap to ensure that the design lays properly and flows seamlessly with the rest of the vehicle. A partial wrap is another excellent option for businesses looking to catch the eye of potential customers, without the need to spend the money you would on a full wrap.

VINYL LETTERING

The most cost-conscious solution, vinyl lettering, allows you to place vinyl letters on the doors, hood, trunk, or windows of your vehicle to promote your business. Typically lettering consists of the business name, area of business/services or specialties, and contact information, however the flexibility of vinyl lettering allows for almost any type of message to be installed.

With each of these options there is also the ability to add extra items such as window perf or removable branded magnets. Perforated Window Vinyl is printed to size and applied directly to the glass of your vehicle. In most cases the design on the window perf can flow directly into the wrap. The dots you see in the example to the right are adjustable in size so you can achieve a look that is more transparent or solid in color.

Magnets are a great option to add if a part of the wrap needs to be easily taken away or added. For example, a shuttle service that works different events could add magnets to their vehicles so that each time the vehicle is used for a specific event it has the company branding and the event branding.
